Pakistan wins first international Twenty20 match convincingly

When the match started, English media declared England cricket team as favorites due to their experience in this form of cricket. On papers Pakistan was having better batsman who have ability to hit quick boundaries. Pakistan had its bowlers like Shoaib Akhtar, Rana Naveed-ul-Hassan and Asif back.

Trescothick was only player who could sustain out of top order batsman. He scored 53 runs. Asif was marvellous by delivering first maiden over in 20-20 international game. He took two wickets in that over with his magical bowling. Shoaib was not only back in team after injury, he is back in his rhythm as well.

After Trescothick was dismissed, Hardy played well to get somewhat reasonable total for English team to defend. Target given to Pakistan was 145 runs only.

Pakistan lost two wickets very early in the innings when Shoaib Malik and Younis Khan got out on consecutive balls. Afridi was sent out at this time and he played according to expectations of his fans. No doubt he is such a player who can change the result of match in his favour no matter which form of cricket is being played.

Hardy took a stunning catch of Afridi but English team was already dented well by Shahid Afridi. Remaining batsman had got a very easy target of run a ball.

Abdul Razzaq, another fine hitter for Pakistan, winded up the innings with about two overs left behind. Afridi was declared Man of Match. Muhammad Hafeez played very well proving that he was the right choice as opener. Unfortunately he could not score 50 runs and got run out 4 runs behind.
