Pakistan Cricket Board has announced new squad or Dubai Series to be played against Srilanka. After debacle in World Cup 2007, Inzamam-Ul-Haq has quit International Cricket and Shoaib Malik is nominated as Captain of Pakistan Cricket Team for one year. Muhammad Asif, who had been a part of Doping Scandal is announced to be the vice captain of the team.

In this above mentioned squad, Fawad Alam and Najam Shah are new additions in international cricket and according to selection committee their selection is made only based on their performance in domestic cricket. Abdul Razaq is back after his knee injury that had caused him to miss the world cup. Shoaib Akhtar is not a part of it as he failed to prove his fitness due to injury.
Chief selector Salahuddin Ahmed told AFP Pakistan would now make a fresh start after the World Cup “and hope that this team settles before the hectic new season in which we play the Twenty20 World Cup in South Africa, host South Africa, tour India and then host Australia.”
