India needs to make a World Record to beat Pakistan now

Third day of Karachi test no doubt belonged to Pakistan. Younis Khan and Muhammad Yousaf came to bat with a total of 174 for the loss of only two wickets in the morning of 3 rd day.

India was unable to get any wicket in the first session. Younis and Yousaf completed their half-centuries just before lunch break. After lunch, Dravid probably came with a different strategy. He worked on controlling the flow of runs scored by Pakistan. Kumble was deployed from one end and he delivered almost 20 overs in a row. Kumble was able to fetch two important wickets of Younis Khan and Muhammad Yousaf one after the other.

Younis Khan had scored 79 runs when he fell a prey to a flipper like straight delivery hitting his pad. Muhammad Yousaf was very unfortunate not to get another hundred. He was batting on 97 when given LBW on a turning ball of Kumble which pitched on middle stump and was hitting the edge of leg stump. Younis and Yousaf have scored 861 runs in their partnerships in this India-Pakistan series.

After the dismissal of Younis Khan, Faisal Iqbal joined Muhammad Yousaf. Shahid Afridi replaced Yousaf very soon. Shahid Afridi Started his innings very sensibly and played some superb shots to hit boundaries. He hit Pathan a marvelous six to complete his half-century. In the very next over he faced RP Singh and was caught neatly after hitting two fours.

Faisal Iqbal was no doubt a player of the day. He completed his maiden hundred in test carrier. He played some very good shots in the middle. Razzaq was his partner till the end of match after the dismissal of Afridi. Razaq was batting at 44 runs and if he completes his half-century then it would probably be a world record of maximum fifties scored in one innings.

Now Pakistan is no doubt in commanding position and it will never be an easy task to chase 500+ runs for India even if they get two whole days keeping in mind they have strong and very deep batting line up. They need to make a World Record to beat Pakistan now.
